What a weekend for Clermont CrossFit.
After months of training & preparation, our athletes took the floor at the Tampa Bay Games and represented CCF exactly the way we knew they would.
Saturday kicked off with our Novice team, “Who the Hell is Franky?” They stepped onto the competition floor, worked together, embraced the moment, and put together an awesome performance. And they saved a little something for the end — WINNING THEIR HEAT in the final WOD!
Then it was time for our Intermediate teams, “Franky’s HR Nightmare” and “Franky’s Adult Daycare,” who got to throw down side by side. And when it was time to lift heavy, they went for it.
Ricky Whittaker "smashed the like" with a 165 # sn**ch PR, Coach Javi followed up with an incredible 200 # sn**ch PR and Coach Christy Hardy threw up a huge 110 # sn**ch PR! Are you kidding?!
After an incredible Saturday, Sunday belonged to our individuals.
Morgan Sioch came out in pure BEAST MODE.
She showed up in a different outfit for every WOD — and somehow each one was better than the last — but the biggest thing we saw from Morgan had nothing to do with a score.
We saw confidence. We saw an athlete who knew what she was capable of. We saw someone allowing herself to be proud of what she was doing. And most importantly, we saw her find the FUN in competing again.
And last, but absolutely not least…
Competing in the Masters 60+ division, Coach Barry started the day sitting 5th out of 6 athletes. But he kept working and grinding it out.
And by the end of the day, he had climbed all the way to 2ND PLACE and a spot on the podium!
To say I’m proud of this group is an understatement.
Every single one of you stepped onto that floor, pushed beyond your limits, supported one another, and — most importantly — had fun doing it.
The smiles say everything. You represented yourselves, your teammates, and showed what Clermont CrossFit is all about.
One last PR we need to announce goes to our friends and athletes Matt and Veronica who got engaged Sunday morning in front of an amazing Tampa Bay sunrise. It was amazing to watch Matt take a knee instead of pre workout 😂.
Congratulations to every one of our TBG athletes 🙌🏻
