Financial Support for Exceptional Family Members (EFMP) | AFAS Assistance

Caring for a family member with special needs can come with unexpected medical and educational expenses not fully covered by TRICARE. The Air & Space Forces Aid Society (AFAS) is here to help our military families at Minot!

Eligible "Q" coded Air Force and Space Force families can receive up to $3,000 per family member over a 3-year period.

Assistance covers items such as:

Specialized therapeutic & educational equipment

Communication & transportation devices

Fees for specialized camps

A Proud Moment for Minot Medical Group! 🇺🇸🩺

We’re incredibly proud to share that 3 members of the inaugural class of the U.S. Air Force’s new Surgical and Critical Care Physician Assistant Residency were previously part of the Minot Medical Group!

They are now at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center – Nellis Air Force Base, completing an intensive program focused on trauma and critical care training to prepare them to deliver lifesaving care in deployed and austere environments.

Seeing our former teammates continue to grow, take on new challenges, and be selected for the inaugural class of this groundbreaking program is something our entire team can celebrate. We’re proud to have been part of their journey and look forward to seeing the impact they make across the Air Force.
