Birth is a life event that can also be a family event. ✨

A rare daytime birth - kids had time to skate outside, paint nails, eat muffins, bake a birthday cake & even support mom while she labored! Twyla, you are so strong & did exactly what was needed to bring baby earthside! I’m so proud of you & grateful to have been a part of your birth. 🫶🏻

When a woman feels safe, comfortable, and supported, oxytocin flows more easily.
Oxytocin is one of the key hormones that drives labor.
It’s one reason so many women find comfort in -

• Dim lights
• A familiar environment
• Warm water
• Music
• People they trust

Birth isn’t just physical.
It’s deeply emotional and hormonal.
And those things matter.

This doesn’t mean birth will be perfectly predictable.
Birth rarely is.
But confidence doesn’t come from certainty.
It comes from preparation & understanding.
It comes from knowing that regardless of how your story unfolds, your voice matters.

Birth is one of the few experiences in modern life where we’re repeatedly told to doubt ourselves before we’ve even begun.
You’re told your body might fail & labor might be too painful. That birth is something that happens to you instead of something you actively do.
And yet for thousands of years women have labored, birthed, adapted, and risen to meet what is necessary in the moment.
That’s not to say birth is easy. It’s not.
But strength doesn’t come from avoiding hard things rather from moving through the resistance.
Every time I am with a mom in labor, I’m reminded that women were created to reflect God’s wisdom & strength in this capacity to bring forth life…truly a gift! ✨✨✨
