Big brother living his best life. ✨
Repost
“Brooks Daniel joined us on April 25th.
Brooks represents peace and steady strength - inspired by the still waters of Psalm 23. Daniel reflects faithfulness and courage from the story of Daniel in the lions’ den and his unwavering trust in God. Together, his name reflects a life rooted in peace, faith, and quiet strength. And we are already seeing this in his sweet personality.
I prayed for a morning birth where I could labor while Carter and Dad woke up rested and ready to meet brother. Active labor began at 5am, and Brooks was in my arms at 9:17am. Carter had just enough time for breakfast and preparing the birthing pool—though Brooks arrived before it was ready, so he got an
“indoor pool” for a day instead!
We were surrounded by such steady, loving care from our doula Lisa and midwife Joanna. I’ll never forget the way they have loved and cared for us during this sacred time.
Brooks weighted 8lbs 3oz and 21” long. He decided to come at 38 weeks and needed help to maintain his oxygen. We spent 6 days in the NICU—a challenge and a blessing!
Carter is an incredible big brother. So in love, involved and a fierce protector already. Their faces are the most beautiful humans and I want you all to see them but we’ve decided to protect their privacy as they grow.
Austin has started a new job with Exxon in Midland.
We are so grateful he was able to be home for the birth and a few weeks after. He will be back and forth until we all move later in June. I have stepped away from my engineering career of 7 years and am thrilled to be going all in with what I know is my greatest calling in life, being Mom!
Mom has been able to be with us to help us transition to life with Brooks, as she also balances chemo treatments. She is one-of-a-kind, so strong and a huge blessing to me, we all love her so much!
God has provided, we are continually reminded he is GOOD and so worthy of our trust. Our family motto is
“Maxwell’s do hard things!” We have had multiple opportunities to practice that and Carter has reminded us “we can do hard things!” That’s a packed life update for you, thank you for reading!”
