Tea Talk: How to Prepare & Enjoy Traditional Maté with from Argentina 🇦🇷

Freddy is a proud Argentinian who was born in the City of Bahia Blanca, located in Buenos Aires Province. When he turned 18 he moved to Ushuaia, the most southern city of Patagonia. ✨

“Drinking mate is not just about the drink but the sharing that happens while drinking mate.”

Freddy will share this beautiful tradition of his culture with us! Maté (pronounced MAH-tay) is a traditional Sound American herbal tea (with caffeine!!) that is not just a drink but a social event. It is frequently shared among groups of friends & family & passed in a circle. We will learn, sip, share & connect!

Whether you’re a maté pro, have never had maté or are curious to learn more and try new things, join us!

Join us for a kid centered morning featuring storytime where Miss Rachel will read her latest book “All Through the Crown”. ✨

All Through the Crown is a musical storybook sung to the popular childhood tune The Wheels on the Bus. This interactive book gets both kids and grownups moving, singing, and answering thoughtful questions together. It’s perfect for ages 2–7 years old to learn the basic concepts of the energy/chakra system, the colors of the rainbow, and the body parts. 🌈

The book includes guided meditation and built-in reflection questions to deepen learning and spark meaningful conversations around body awareness, emotional wellness, and self-expression.✨

We’ll be enjoying our storytime picnic style in our alleyway! So pack a blanket & bring along some snacks! 🍎

The Belden Witch will be offering organic lemonade for the kiddos with a special magical twist! Think color changing magic potion! (That is actually good for you!)

Post storytime, no need to rush out… we’ll have a kids coloring station, bubbles, chalk and simple outdoor fun. It’s the perfect opportunity to slow down, connect, and celebrate the joy of reading and connecting with community! ✨

FREE TO JOIN! Storytime starts around 10:15ish. Please arrive by ten to get settled! All kiddos must be accompanied by an adult. Please no drop offs, trust us, parents won’t want to miss out on the fun!

This Thursday! May 14th join us for a Tea Talk focused on herbs for seasonal allergies 🌱 🌼✨

We’re planning to host once monthly Tea Talks. An evening of herbal tea and conscious conversation about varying topics. These are designed to be a more accessible offering where you can come learn something new, maybe meet a few new people, and just come SIT for a second! Low stress, low output, high vibes. ✨

This month’s topic is lead by our founder, Jocelyn Laferriere.

Here’s what to expect:

Join us for an educational and cozy herbal tea gathering focused on natural support for seasonal allergies. In this guided Tea Talk, we’ll explore a handful of herbs traditionally used to help soothe common allergy symptoms such as congestion, itchy eyes, sinus irritation, and histamine response.

Together we’ll discuss:

The actions and energetics of several allergy-supportive herbs. How to incorporate these herbs into teas, tinctures, and daily rituals. Simple lifestyle and seasonal wellness tips for allergy season, & contraindications and safety considerations for common herbs.

Guests will enjoy tasting a thoughtfully crafted herbal tea blend while learning practical ways to support the body naturally through the changing seasons.

Whether you’re new to herbalism or deepening your practice, this gathering is designed to be approachable, informative, and community-centered.

Want to know a secret? Opening this space has made me grow in ways I couldn’t have ever predicted.

At first it was a literal dream that I had been manifesting and dreaming of a space to open in the business park next door to the apothecary where I could host all of my events and rituals. Moving an entire retail shop TWICE for each event was becoming way too much.

What are the chances it did? ✨

What I could’ve never expected was how much grit it’s actually asked of me. How bad do you want this? How deeply rooted is this vision of yours? How true to yourself can you stay without letting outside forces dictate your next move?

I had the lease in my hands, signed and ready. And I get a text from someone my heart considered to be a good friend, “how could you do this to me?” …. What?

Long story short I had to defend my integrity to people whom I’ve never met. Turns out that friend was literally fighting me for the space. It went on for weeks. How hurtful.

That brought up deep seated wounds of hurt & betrayal. Without going too in depth, I’ve been nursing wounds of hurt for months. Making myself small for months. Quite honestly, losing money for months.

Feeling like I’m not allowed to show up in my own space, to host whatever I feel called to offer. All the while feeling like I’m the scapegoat for other people’s fears and sense of lack mentality.

And without playing this violin for too long, I just felt like I had to get it off my chest and let my community know what’s been actually happening.

Most of you probably still have no idea we have a studio space next door. I hear “WHAT?! When did that happen?!” All too often.

I’m done dimming my own light. And I have been making some BIG moves in silence.

Reintroducing the Vail Valley’s newest little sanctuary space with the biggest heart, rooted in authenticity, passion, community, inclusivity, and connection.

You will be guided through a thoughtfully curated meditation with gentle breath work and visualization & then drift off into a beautiful sound healing session of quartz crystal singing bowls and chimes.✨

This is a beautiful way to honor your relationship with your mother whether she will be on the mat next to you, or thousands of miles away in another state.
