Legacy Medical Academy

We offer CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) classes for both adult and high school learners, along with QMA (Qualified Medication Aide) & Insulin courses for adult learners They started Michiana Healthcare Training in 2000. MHT took pride in developing a well respected Certified Nursing Assistant Training company in Northern Indiana. In 2013 two of MHT owners decided to retire and Legacy CNA Traini

ng was born. And with many of the same instructors from Michiana Healthcare Training the pride and compassion still lives thru Legacy CNA Training.

Congratulations to Julia – New Prairie High School’s Student of the Year!

Selected by her instructor, Ms. Daniel, RN, Julia has demonstrated extraordinary compassion, empathy, and dedication throughout her healthcare journey. Her kindness and genuine connection with residents made her stand out during clinicals, where she approached every opportunity with confidence, attentiveness, and a desire to learn.

Julia’s passion for healthcare—especially her goal of becoming a psychiatric nurse—reflects her deep commitment to helping others, particularly those facing emotional and mental health challenges. Already accepted into a CNA position at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka, she continues to take meaningful steps toward her future while leading with heart and purpose.

One unforgettable clinical moment captured Julia’s spirit perfectly—playing the piano for residents and bringing comfort, joy, and emotion to everyone in the room. It was a beautiful reminder that healing comes not only through skill, but also through compassion.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Julia as New Prairie High School’s Legacy Medical Academy Student of the Year. Your kindness, resilience, and caring spirit will continue to make a lasting difference in healthcare.

Congratulations to Lily – Mishawaka High School’s Student of the Year!

From the very first day of clinicals, Lily stood out through her confidence, professionalism, and compassionate heart. On the rehabilitation unit, she became more than a student—she became a dependable and caring presence for residents and staff alike.

Lily's instructor, Jen Delio RN, stated in her nomination that Lily's ability to notice the small changes in a resident’s comfort and mood, offer reassurance, and protect dignity speaks volumes about the kind of healthcare professional she is becoming. Nurses and CNAs consistently praised her strong work ethic, technical skills, and genuine kindness.

Lily treats every resident as a person first and a patient second, and her passion for caring for others shines through in every interaction.

We are incredibly proud to recognize Lily as Mishawaka High School’s CNA Student of the Year and cannot wait to see the impact she will continue to make in healthcare.
