We asked our high school CNA instructors to nominate a student in their class that embodies the compassion, skill, and intelligence we want to see in our future health care workers. This week we will celebrate those nominations and announce which of these finalists have been selected as the Legacy Medical Academy Student of the Year!
Congratulations to Julia – New Prairie High School’s Student of the Year!
Selected by her instructor, Ms. Daniel, RN, Julia has demonstrated extraordinary compassion, empathy, and dedication throughout her healthcare journey. Her kindness and genuine connection with residents made her stand out during clinicals, where she approached every opportunity with confidence, attentiveness, and a desire to learn.
Julia’s passion for healthcare—especially her goal of becoming a psychiatric nurse—reflects her deep commitment to helping others, particularly those facing emotional and mental health challenges. Already accepted into a CNA position at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka, she continues to take meaningful steps toward her future while leading with heart and purpose.
One unforgettable clinical moment captured Julia’s spirit perfectly—playing the piano for residents and bringing comfort, joy, and emotion to everyone in the room. It was a beautiful reminder that healing comes not only through skill, but also through compassion.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Julia as New Prairie High School’s Legacy Medical Academy Student of the Year. Your kindness, resilience, and caring spirit will continue to make a lasting difference in healthcare.
Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
