We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in expanding our existing, proven health and fitness program infrastructure into a more formalized and scalable rural health network.

This includes expansion of Healthy Athletes screenings, implementation of youth and community-based programming, targeted provider training to strengthen the rural healthcare workforce, and development of a structured care coordination system to ensure follow-up care is completed.

Special Olympics Kansas will increase access to preventative services, improve early identification of health needs, and strengthen connections between individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and local healthcare providers. The project is designed to deliver over 3,000 health screenings annually while building long-term capacity within rural health systems and increasing provider confidence in delivering inclusive care.

We're proud to welcome Tracy Aspinwall to the Board of Directors.

Tracy has seen firsthand how sports can transform confidence, create joy, and build a true sense of belonging for individuals with intellectual disabilities. When her son Jax first joined, he was nervous and unsure, but during his very first bowling practice, something changed. She saw the impact of SOKS, the commitment to empowering athletes to become respected and included members of society and it is something she wants for Jax and every family like hers.

Tracy is passionate about creating spaces where every individual feels valued and we're excited to have her perspective on the board. Welcome, Tracy!
