Why Tattoo Shops Have a Minimum Price?
Even if it’s a tiny tattoo your artist has to prepare the station, use sterile, single-use needles, disinfect surfaces, and set up protective barriers to help prevent cross-contamination, and reduce the risk of infection or disease transmission.
The minimum helps to cover the artist’s time, experience, equipment, supplies, and studio time. You’re paying for more than the amount of ink—it’s about getting the work done safely and properly. If it’s a tinny dot or a huge back piece the process and set up its the same.
A good tattoo will be worth more than the lowest price. It also responds to the offer/ demand laws. The better the studio and its artist, the more people will want to get their tattoos there. Good tattoo shops usually dont offer discounts as a way to attract clients.

And yes… I remove my jewelry when actually tattooing for real. And no, wearing gloves are not cleaner than hands properly washed with antimicrobial hospital-grade soap. This was for demonstration purposes only… 😉
