this is such an underrated treatment because the changes can SO good.

for this treatment, I targeted:

• DAOs → less downward pull at the corners of the mouth
• mentalis → smoother chin + less dimpling
• platysmal bands → less downward pull through the neck + a cleaner jawline look

when we treat these muscles together, it’s often referred to as a Nefertiti lift.

the goal is NOT to freeze the lower face — it’s to relax the muscles that are pulling the face downward and create a more balanced, refreshed look.

Today we’re decoding: why we incorporated lower-face balancing into this treatment plan.

My patient came in wanting to address dullness, acne scarring, facial proportions, and her overall glow. Her biggest concern? She simply felt like her face looked “dull.”

🔍 What I noticed:

* A strong mentalis with visible contraction at rest and with animation
* Strong facial muscle activity contributing to early dynamic lines
* Dullness and uneven skin texture
* Opportunities to create more harmony and balance in the lower face
