The wellness industry is very good at convincing us that the next thing we need is something we have to buy.

An ice bath. A gadget. Another app.

And some of those things may be useful. They're not automatically the enemy.

But you don't need $200 to start paying more attention to your breath.

Your breath is free. It's always available. And you can use it intentionally wherever you are.

Before you add another tool to your routine, it's worth asking whether you actually need it.

Sometimes the simplest tools are the ones we forget we already have.

You don't need an hour.

You don't even need 10 minutes.

Try giving yourself 60 seconds to slow things down and pay attention to your breathing.

No equipment.

No special setup.

Just your breath.

Save this one so you can come back to it later.

You’re breathing all day long.

About 20,000 times a day, actually.

And because breathing happens automatically, most of us never really think about it.

But automatic doesn't mean there isn't a reason to pay attention to how you're breathing.

Your breath is something you can actually use on purpose- and you don't need equipment, a gym, or an hour carved out of your day to do it.

It's already with you.

I'm teaching a free Strength Collective class on September 11th at 7am, live on Zoom, and I'd love for you to be there.

Here's what it is: a real class, not a sales pitch dressed up as one. You'll do actual strength work, get coached on actual form, and leave with a clear sense of what effective training looks like for a body that's changed over the years, not a body from twenty years ago.

No experience required. No equipment to sort out in advance. Just show up and see what it feels like to be coached by someone who actually knows what they're doing.

Comment "strong" below and I'll send you everything you need to get signed up.

A quick hip mobility flow to warm up before your next adventure.

Lift one arm overhead and lean into a stretch through that side of your body. Exhale as you move forward, inhale as you come back. Then step into a lunge, about a 45 degree angle, and lean into that front knee. You'll feel it through the inner thigh and ankle. Do that a couple times, then switch sides and repeat.

As you go through it, notice what you feel on the left side versus the right. That difference is worth paying attention to, not just pushing through.

Takes a few minutes. Your hips will thank you.

Too busy to work out. Too busy not to.

It's easy to believe you don't have time when you're not actually looking at where the time goes. A few minutes of coffee, a few minutes of scrolling, a few minutes of anything- it all adds up. So does ten minutes of actually moving.

You don't need an extra hour in your day. You just need to spend the one you already have a little differently.

A lot of women avoid interval training because they think it means sprinting, and sprinting is exactly the kind of thing that leads to an injury that sidelines them for weeks.

Here's the good news: the interval part is what matters, not the running part. A rowing machine, an elliptical, a stationary bike, or even walking briskly up a hill all get you the same result. Your heart rate goes up, you get the benefit, and you skip the impact that comes with running.

Once a week. That's genuinely all it takes.

I have about 30 years in the health and wellness space. As a massage therapist, a health coach, and a physical therapy assistant. That's a lot of hands-on experience with real bodies, not just theory.

I say that because this industry has a wide range of people in it. Some go to a weekend seminar, come back with a certificate, and call that a career. That's not a dig at anyone; it's just not the same level of experience.

When you work with me, there's no guessing involved. I've had 30 years to get this right, and I use every bit of it.
