Pinwheels for Prevention represents our effort to focus on community activities that support families and public policies that prioritize prevention right from the start to make sure child abuse and neglect never occur.
The blue pinwheel is the national symbol for child abuse prevention. The pinwheel represents the great childhood that every child deserves, and the role we each play in providing a loving and supportive environment for the children in our lives.
Children who are raised with safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and positive environments are more academically and financially successful and grow up to be productive, contributing members of their communities.

Free car seat checks on Friday! Did you know that car seats are commonly installed incorrectly? Getting your car seat checked by a Child Passenger Safety Technician can assure you that your seat is protecting your little one as it should.

FREE CAR SEAT SAFETY CHECK: This Friday, May 20, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Missoula Emergency Services building Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be doing free car seat checks.

Thanks Missoula City-County Health Department for raising awareness about maternal mental health this month:

Most new mothers, (experts estimate about 80%) experience mood swings and weepiness during the first 2-3 weeks after giving birth. More significant symptoms of depression or anxiety are experienced in 1 in 7 new moms. Postpartum Support International now operates The National Maternal Mental Health Hotline to provide free, confidential support and resources for parents. The hotline is available for pregnancy, postpartum and post-loss support 24/7.
