The Arc Western Montana In 1987, Montana State legislators took the first steps toward integrating institutionalized people with developmental disabilities into communities.

The Arc Western Montana, formerly Missoula Developmental Service Corporation (MDSC), has been opening doors and transforming lives since 1990 for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Montana. The legislation they passed created the concept of a nonprofit organization managing the human services support and carrying the fiduciary responsibility for adults with developmental di

sabilities placed in group residences as part of a broader urban community social movement. The city that bid for and won the practical application of such funding appropriation from the State for this innovative approach to caring for and nurturing folks with severe developmental disabilities was Missoula. The organization it established in 1989 was the Missoula Developmental Service Corporation a private fee-for-service nonprofit entity guided by a volunteer Board of Directors. By October 1990, three homes were ready to open their doors to the first 20 people coming from institutions where many of them had literally grown up. The organization now supports over 60 adults living in 10 homes and a day services center. A unique part of our services is that we offer clients with critical physical conditions, requiring emergency assistance and/or treatment, a unique nurse-managed residence with 24-hour on-site medical support.

⚾🎉 Join The Arc Western Montana's FIRST-EVER PaddleHeads Fundraiser This Tuesday, June 23! 🎉⚾

We're excited to partner with the Missoula PaddleHeads for a fun-filled evening of baseball, community, and support for the incredible individuals we serve at The Arc Western Montana!

Many of our clients and staff will be at the game, and we'd love to see you there cheering alongside us. Every ticket purchased through our fundraiser link helps support programs, activities, and opportunities that enrich the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

What a great day for the Legends !🏅

Last Friday, the Legends of The Arc participated in the Five Valley Area Games at Big Sky High School, and it was an amazing time filled with teamwork, fun, and lots of cheering!

For those who stayed back at the Center, the excitement continued with their own Olympics celebration and they had just as much fun competing, celebrating, and showing their team spirit!

We are so proud of all of our athletes, staff, and supporters who made the day so special. Your energy, determination, and smiles made it a day to remember!!
