Her latest book is Naked: Botanical Recipes for Vibrant Skin and Healthy Hair. Elaine is the Co-Director of Green Path Herb School, located in Missoula, Montana, where she strives to inspire and empower students and clients to remember their connection to the earth, the plants, and their own healing process. She is a professional member of the American Herbalist Guild and teaches workshops, and at conferences, both nationally and internationally. Elaine received her BA in Environmental Conservation from the University of Colorado. She is a graduate of the Rocky Mountain Center of Botanical Medicine and the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine. Elaine has an International Certification in Aromatherapy from the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy. As a certified Instructor of the Natural Family Planning and Fertility Awareness Methods, Elaine has helped many couples to avoid or achieve pregnancy naturally. She has written numerous articles about her family’s journey with epilepsy and a special needs child. Elaine has written for publications including the Journal of Medicinal Plants and their Applications, Mamalode, and Aromaculture magazine. You can often find Elaine bent over an herb in her garden or marveling at small flowers in mountain meadows with her husband and sons. Elaine’s workshops have been featured at numerous conferences including the Traditions in Western Herbalism Conference, American Herbalist's Guild, Montana Herb Gathering, Northwest Herb Symposium, Midwest Women’s Herbal Conference, Spokane Herbal Faire, Pacific Women’s Herb Conference, Inland Northwest Permaculture Convergence the Ecoexpo, and the Mountain West Herb Gathering. If you’d like to learn more about medicinal plants, you can connect with Elaine, and Green Path Herb School via the Green Path Website or through social media: Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, or Instagram. You can find out more about Elaine and her life work at GreenPathHerbSchool.com. John Goicovich first started studying plants in the early 90s on the coast of California. It was not until moving to the Rocky Mountains in 1993 that his interest became a lifetime commitment. John’s first love of herbs was always the connection between plants and people and the personal involvement in making one’s own remedies. For the last twenty years, John has worked on deepening that connection, and his favorite thing to do besides making herbal remedies is sharing with others how to make their own medicine. John has owned and operated Meadowsweet Herbs in Missoula for the last 17 years with his wife and herbalist, Elaine. Along with their two boys and dog, they call Montana home.

The Minerva gardens in Salerno, Italy are the very first botanical gardens. Ever. It was a medical school, filled with medicinal plants for the students to learn identification and uses. A combination of the knowledge of many cultures and plants, they focused on the four humors and elemental qualities of earth, air, fire and water. The basic idea is that balanced humors lead to health and wellness. And to balance the humors you lead a healthy and moderate life, both mentally and physically. It was such an amazing place to visit. I teach these things in our history of herbalism class. It was so special to be here in these gardens which have been here since the 1000’s BCE. Incredible.

A dream… come true. I’m with my oldest son in Italy. 🇮🇹 It’s beautiful and crowded and I’m walking down streets that are well over a thousand years old. How many feet have walked these same steps? Seen this same artwork? I’m so grateful to be here. 🌻❤️🤗

Thanks to my good friend, herbalist Robyn Klein, for growing some beautiful herbs for our plant sale. Robyn teaches the botany class for our Herbalist Certificate Program. She grew a bunch of wonderful herbs, drove them to Missoula (a three hour drive) donated them to the school to help fund our scholarship programs, and helped out at the sale. We’re so grateful to her for all of her generosity and help!!! 💚🌱🪴
