The sensory gym at our clinic on Hillcrest Road was completed today 🤗 A huge thank you to All In Credit Union for their grant to do this, and to United Way of Southwest Alabama Day of Caring volunteers, Ryan Zarzour and Troy Carter, for putting it together for us. Before we close out OT Month, let’s take a look at what occupational therapy is. 💛

Occupational therapy (OT) helps children build the skills they need to do everyday activities—also called their “occupations.” For kids, this includes things like playing, learning, dressing, eating, writing, and interacting with others. OTs work on developing fine motor skills, coordination, attention, sensory processing, and independence so children can feel more confident and successful in their daily routines.

At its core, OT is about supporting each child at their current level and helping them grow through play-based, meaningful activities that build confidence and independence. 🤍
