Tina S Howard, MA, LPC-S

Tina S Howard, MA, LPC-S Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an experiential therapy in which clients learn about themselves and others through hands on activities with the horse.

The focus is on human skills, not horse skills. Specific treatment goals are identifies but sessions are process focused. Activities can be designed to create metaphors for "real life," with sessions structured and facilitated to address the reasons clients came for therapy. Activities can be designed to work on relationships and emotional regulation by developing a healthy relationship with the horse.

🌞 Happy Wednesday! Hang in there! 💛

Take a breath. Give yourself some grace. Do the next right thing, and remember… you don’t have to have the whole week figured out today.
God’s got you — even on the Wednesdays that feel a little extra Wednesday-ish. 😅🙏

Sometimes healing means doing hard things. 💛
It means saying no when you’re used to saying yes.
It means disappointing someone rather than continually abandoning yourself.
It means having the uncomfortable conversation, stepping away from unhealthy patterns, and setting boundaries—even when others don’t understand them.
Healthy boundaries aren’t about shutting people out. They’re about recognizing what you need in order to protect your peace, your emotional health, and your relationships.
Growth isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes the healthiest choice will also be the hardest one.
You can love people and still have boundaries. You can be kind and still say no. And you can choose peace without feeling guilty for it. 🌿💛

🍎✏️ BACK TO SCHOOL! 📚🚌
A new school year brings new teachers, new routines, new friendships…and sometimes new worries, too. 💛
As our kids head back to school, remember that not every child is excited. Some may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, lonely, or unsure about what this year will bring.
This week, give them a little extra patience. Ask questions. Listen without immediately trying to fix everything. Remind them that their grades don’t determine their worth—and that home is always their safe place to land. ❤️
And parents…give yourself some grace, too! Adjusting to early mornings, homework, activities, and packed schedules is a transition for the whole family. 😊
🙏 Praying for a safe, happy, and healthy school year for our students, teachers, staff, and families!
Here’s to a wonderful new school year! 🍎📚❤️

🎉 YAY! We made it to another Monday!
Take a moment and let that sink in.
You survived last week's stress, made it through the weekend, and today you've been given something incredibly valuable... another fresh start. ☀️
Will today be perfect? Probably not.
Will there be coffee? Hopefully. ☕😉
Will there be unexpected challenges? Maybe.
But there will also be opportunities to laugh, grow, love well, and begin again.
Don't let Monday steal your joy before your feet even hit the floor.
Take a deep breath, say a little prayer, and remind yourself:
"I don't have to have it all figured out today. I just have to take the next right step."
Here's to new mercies, fresh coffee, and another chance to make this week count.
💜 Happy Monday, friends! You've got this.

Sometimes we expect a level of emotional control from our children that even we, as adults, struggle to maintain.
When we're tired, we lose our patience. When we're overwhelmed, we may raise our voices or say things we wish we hadn't. We all have moments when our emotions get the best of us.
Yet when a child does the same—with a brain that is still learning how to regulate emotions—we're often quick to label it as disrespect or disobedience and move straight to punishment.
Of course, children need boundaries, guidance, and accountability. But they also need understanding. Emotional regulation is a skill that develops over time, and our role is to teach it, not expect it to be fully formed.
Big feelings, bad days, and imperfect reactions are part of being human. They don't make a child "bad" any more than they make us bad.
Our children don't need perfect parents, and they don't need to be perfect children. They need adults who can model grace, patience, and self-control—even when it's hard.
Let's offer them the same compassion we hope others extend to us.
Because one of the greatest gifts we can give our children isn't perfection... it's grace. 💜
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." — Ephesians 4:32

🎉 Yay... It's Friday! 🎉
You made it through another week.
Some days you thrived. Some days you simply survived—and that's okay too.
This weekend, give yourself permission to rest without guilt, laugh a little louder, hug your people a little longer, and remember that taking care of yourself isn't selfish... it's necessary.
You've earned a deep breath and a fresh start.
Happy Friday, friends! 💙☀️
