Are you a fluent Spanish speaker interested in gaining valuable clinical experience and giving back to your community? 💙
St. Luke’s Family Practice is looking for a volunteer to assist with Spanish interpretation for our medical residents on Tuesday afternoons.
This is a great opportunity for a pre-health student to:
✨ Gain valuable clinical experience
✨ Learn more about primary care
✨ Work alongside physicians and medical residents
✨ Help improve communication and access to care for Spanish-speaking patients

Teaching, learning, and collaborating with the next generation of family medicine physicians. ❤️
Dr. Kiesel and Dr. Heck had the opportunity to work alongside two wonderful family medicine residents, Dr. Wu with VCME and Dr. Goswami with Sutter. We are proud to share our experience, learn from one another, and help prepare the next generation of physicians to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in our community.
Family medicine is about collaboration, lifelong learning, and caring for the whole person. We are grateful to be part of that journey. 🩺

Summer Intern Spotlight 🌟
This summer, we had the pleasure of welcoming Thomas to St. Luke’s Family Practice! Thomas is a pre-med student who is heading into his senior year at LSU, and he quickly became an integral part of so many projects at our clinic.
He worked alongside our doctors on a patient improvement project focused on improving the overall health of our patients living with diabetes. He also trained in both front and back office medical assistant duties—and even brushed up on his Spanish along the way! 🇪🇸🩺
We’re so sad to see Thomas go, but we are incredibly grateful for all the time, energy, and enthusiasm he brought to St. Luke’s this summer. We’re excited to watch him continue on his journey toward becoming the next Dr. Kiesel! 👨‍⚕️
