At St. Luke’s Family Practice, Dr. Richard Heck and Dr. Erin Kiesel provide comprehensive primary care with an emphasis on time, accessibility and getting to know the person - not just the diagnosis.

Today, we honor St. Luke, the patron saint of physicians and healthcare workers, whose legacy of compassion, healing, and service continues to inspire our mission.

For more than 22 years, St. Luke’s Family Practice has been dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized healthcare to our community, regardless of a person’s ability to pay.

Like our namesake, we believe that caring for others is more than treating illness. It is about listening, showing kindness, preserving dignity, and ensuring that everyone has access to the care they deserve.

One of the most important things you can do for your health is stay current with recommended preventive screenings.

Breast cancer screening isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your age, family history, previous imaging and individual risk factors can all affect when and how often you should be screened.

If you’re overdue for a mammogram - or you’re simply not sure - talk with your healthcare provider.

Preventive care matters, and sometimes one conversation can make all the difference.

UOP PA student Juan getting hands-on experience performing an ear lavage on a patient who presented with muffled hearing due to moderate cerumen impaction in both ears.
After the lavage, the patient’s hearing was back to normal! 👂✨
We love providing our PA students with real-world, hands-on learning experiences while they work alongside our clinical team. These everyday moments are an important part of preparing the next generation of healthcare providers.

Are you a fluent Spanish speaker interested in gaining valuable clinical experience and giving back to your community? 💙
St. Luke’s Family Practice is looking for a volunteer to assist with Spanish interpretation for our medical residents on Tuesday afternoons.
This is a great opportunity for a pre-health student to:
✨ Gain valuable clinical experience
✨ Learn more about primary care
✨ Work alongside physicians and medical residents
✨ Help improve communication and access to care for Spanish-speaking patients
