Is your pet ready for an emergency? ๐จ Check out these tips from our friends at PAWS DART. Be ready & have a peace of mind.
๐จ๐พ YOU HAVE 5 MINUTES TO EVACUATE.
Your phone sounds an emergency alert. You need to leave your homeโand you may not know when you'll be able to return.
Could you have your pets ready to go in five minutes?
During an emergency, those aren't the five minutes you want to spend searching for a carrier, trying to find the leash or wondering where you put your pet's medication.
As part of National Pet Wellness Month, PAWS DART has a challenge for every pet owner:
๐พ THE 5-MINUTE PET PREPAREDNESS CHECK
Can you quickly locate:
๐ถ Your pet's leash, harness or carrier
๐ท๏ธ Current identification & contact information
๐ Medications and important medical/vaccination records
๐ฅซ Emergency food and fresh water
๐ A ready-to-grab pet emergency kit
If you couldn't grab all five quickly, this week is a great time to change that.
Put your pet's emergency supplies together in one clearly marked container and keep it somewhere you can reach quickly.
And remember: preparedness isn't about being afraid of what might happen.
โค๏ธ It's about already knowing what to do when something does.
๐จ YOUR CHALLENGE
โฑ๏ธ Set a timer for 5 minutes.
Without preparing first, see how long it takes you to gather what your pet would need to leave home.
How did you do?
Tell us in the commentsโand if you discover something your emergency kit is missing, let us know that too!
๐ SAVE this post for later.
โ๏ธ SHARE it with another pet owner.
You might help another family realize they're missing something before they need it.
