🩸🔬 A fun day at Louisiana Tech University!
Today’s event, “Getting Into the Guts,” brought together healthcare disciplines from universities across the area to introduce middle school students to the many exciting careers available in healthcare.
Our ULM Medical Laboratory Science students, along with MLS students from Louisiana Tech, had the opportunity to share a little about the world of laboratory medicine. 🧪 Students participated in a hands-on synthetic blood typing activity, learning how laboratory professionals determine blood types and why blood typing is so important in patient care.
It was a great opportunity for our MLS students to represent their profession, interact with younger students, and hopefully inspire a few future Medical Laboratory Scientists! ❤️🩸🔬

Orientation Week for ULM MLS Year 1 & Year 2 students was a success!

The week was filled with opportunities for students to connect, learn, and prepare for the semester ahead. Activities included a tour of our new facility, lunch with fellow students and faculty, and a Q&A session with our Year 2 MLS students, who shared their experiences and answered questions from the incoming class.

To wrap up the week, our Year 2 students completed competency and skill check-offs for their practicals. The year two students also received ULM MLS T-shirts and handwritten notes of encouragement from the ULM MLS staff!

We’re excited to see what this semester has in store for both our Year 1 and Year 2 students. Best of luck to everyone this semester!

Day One of the Fall 2026 Semester!

We kicked off the semester with our largest class yet! We are so excited to welcome our newest Year 1 students to the ULM MLS family as they begin their journey into the Medical Laboratory Science program.

Our Year 2 students welcomed the Class of 2028 with small gifts of encouragement as they start their first semester in the program and navigate this exciting new chapter.

Here’s to a great semester and future medical laboratory scientists!
