* Builds the desired intensity: The artist can gradually increase the color rather than depositing too much pigment in one appointment.
* Checks the healed result: Your artist can see how your skin actually retained the pigment before deciding what needs refining.
Important: The timing varies by artist and technique, but the lips should be fully healed before a touch-up—often around 6–8 weeks, depending on the individual.
