Our coalition spent yesterday afternoon delivering FREE locking bags to provisioning centers in Monroe County. In addition, we provided a cling with a QR code for their customers to scan to pick up a free locking bag from the Monroe County Health Department - Michigan (while supplies last).

Most of the provisioning centers agreed to participate, and we appreciate their support with this strategy of providing these locking bags to their customers to assist our coalition in reducing access of ma*****na among our youth in this community.

A special shout out to the following provisioning centers for assisting with this special project: King of Budz, Pure Cannabis Outlet, Joyology, Uniq Cannabis, Backpack Boyz, DaCut, Crave Cannabis, Mint Cannabis, Quality Roots, Lume Cannabis, High Profile, and Green Labs Provisions!

Graduation season is here, bringing celebrations for graduates and their friends, including “after” graduation parties. Please remember that the legal drinking age is 21. As a parent, do your part to help everyone celebrate safely and responsibly. Host substance-free celebrations for your child and their friends!

Our coalition and the Student Prevention Leadership Team - SPLT Coordinator from Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan - Monroe spent the morning at Airport Community Schools for their Health and Wellness Fair.

We had 152 students visit our table, and we had different activities they actively engaged in. Some of the students used ma*****na simulation goggles, and these goggles were used to demonstrate the cognitive and physical impairments associated with THC use. The students displayed delayed reaction time, altered visual perception, and impaired coordination while wearing the goggles and completing the tasks they were asked to do. They were reminded that ma*****na is legalized for those 21+, and impaired driving is illegal.

Congratulations to Olivia M. and Logan W. for each winning a $20 gift card! They participated in a different activity about the amount of ni****ne found in electronic ci******es. Our coalition is happy to support these types of events as we were able to have intentional conversations with the students about the risks of ni****ne and ma*****na use during adolescence.
