March 1st begins Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month. I’m not sharing this for sympathy, I’m sharing it because knowledge is power, and awareness helps people feel less alone in whatever they’re facing. MS affects my life, but it doesn’t define me. I didn’t cause it, I can’t cure it, and I’ve learned to live with the cards I’ve been dealt, even on the days when I need a poker face. I’ve learned so much from what others share online, from health conditions to grief to everyday life experiences. Those posts have made me curious and more understanding, and I hope to do the same this month by sharing what MS is and how it affects me and others inflicted by it. If you have a question, please ask. MS impacts me, but it also affects the people I love, especially my husband, and talking about it helps all of us.
If what I post speaks to you, please share. Let's flood social media with MS facts to spread awareness!
