In TWO WEEKS, we'll have a disco-themed trunk at the Mont Belvieu library's Trunk or Treat event, and we need CANDY! We're reusing the disco decor y'all already generously donated so we're set there, but those kids are going to want candy and toys so we're coming to you again.

I wanted to share something I learned while visiting the HMNS-Sugar Land recently, THEY HAVE AN ADULT CHANGING TABLE!! That's HUGE!!!! I love the Sensory room too! I just had to share. Now if we could get the rest of all public spaces on board, that'd be GREAT!!

WE NEED YOUR INPUT: WOULD YOU PREFER AN INFORMATIVE MEETING TEACHING YOU ABOUT MEDICAID WAIVER PROGRAMS, THEIR BENEFITS AND WHY YOU NEED THEM VIA ZOOM OR IN PERSON? And in my experience, for these informative meetings, it's best to find - and I KNOW it's difficult, childcare for your kiddos. Because they can be distracting and this information is important for your family.

We are still smiling after last night’s Everybody Dance Now Disco! 🪩💃🏻
FUNctional Abilities is so incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this event such a fun, welcoming night for our special needs community and their families.

A huge thank you to Chick-fil-A Barbers Hill for donating food and bringing the baby cow out to party with us, to the Chambers County Pilots Club for providing desserts and spending the evening with us, and to the generous donors who helped make our sound system, decorations, supplies, and event possible.

Thank you as well to everyone who donated items from our Amazon wish list, volunteered their time, helped decorate, set up, clean up, take photos, make treats, and keep everything running throughout the night.

We also want thank Special Moms of Mont Belvieu for partnering with us, suggesting the disco theme, helping promote the event, and connecting us with the wonderful people who provided the cake balls and photography.

Thank you Fullbright with Photo for all the time you spent capturing our special guests having the best time. I *think* you had a pretty great time yourself!

We need to add a special huge thank you to the City of Old River-Winfee, mayor Kathy Franssen, city Secretary Linda Murphy who are always so generous & wonderful to work with.

Also, thank you to Kramer with the Baytown Sun for coming out to see what our little nonprofit is all about & hopefully 🤞🏻 doing a story on us.

Most of all, thank you to every family who came out, danced, laughed, visited, and filled that room with joy. Seeing everyone included, welcomed, and having fun is exactly why FUNctional Abilities exists.

We walked away from this event with full hearts, new friendships, new volunteers, new community connections, and so much excitement for what comes next.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us create a place where everyone belongs. 💜
