If you’ve ever had the opportunity to meet Dr. Nilo Hernandez, you know his passion for biologic dentistry and whole-body wellness is unmistakable. Every conversation with him is filled with knowledge, curiosity, and an excitement that’s truly contagious.

His book, Understanding a Biologic Dental Clinic, reflects that same passion. It does an excellent job of explaining the philosophy behind biologic dentistry and why oral health should never be viewed in isolation from the rest of the body.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading his book it and highly recommend it to better understand the connection between oral health and overall wellness.

Thankful for the team at SmileCreator of Alabama for helping make biologic dentistry accessible in our community. 🦷📚

I spent part of my vacation reading books on functional medicine, hormones, inflammation, and healing. Every book offers a different perspective, and I enjoy evaluating new ideas!

One of my favorite reads was on DMSO. While I’m not making specific recommendations regarding its use in this post, I found the discussion on its history, research, and safety considerations especially interesting. As with many therapies, understanding how to use it safely is just as important as understanding its potential benefits. 🔬🧬🩺

Great beach read! 🏖️📖

Being brave is not the absence of fear. It is allowing yourself to feel the fear, acknowledge the uncertainty, and still choose faith over fear. It is refusing to give up or give in. That is what builds resilience.

In my practice, I strive to combine science, faith, and experience to instill hope, promote healing, and support lasting health!

Methylation isn’t just about taking more B12.

B12, folate, and B6 work together in the body’s methylation cycle. It is the system that helps regulate:

• Homocysteine
• Neurotransmitters
• Detox pathways
• Hormone metabolism

Genetics matter.

Certain COMT variants slow the breakdown of dopamine and stress hormones. In those cases, high-dose methyl donors may increase anxiety, irritability, or sleep disruption.

Sometimes the better strategy isn’t pushing the pathway harder, it’s lowering demand.

Creatine and choline help conserve methyl groups and support balance without overstimulation.

Test. Individualize. Dose intentionally
