APA has just been notified that CVS/Caremark is assessing employers a $0.30 per claim "State Regulatory Impact Assessment" to cover compliance costs. Alabama is one of 23 states impacted by this move. The fee is based on claims dispensed in the affected states, not the location where the patient resides.

We have reached out to Dr. Kelli Newman at the Department of Insurance to determine if our current regulations address this and/or any needed action. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
