Today marks a whole year since I lost my heart dog, Gabby.
So much has changed in a year's time, but one thing remains the same: I miss my beautiful girl more than I ever would've thought.
It still feels like she's here by my side and never left. Sometimes, I still even look for her, walking right behind me like she always did. She was my shadow, and that will never ever change.
She was more than just a dog; she was my best friend from a very young age. I'm so grateful to have known a kind of love like that from a canine companion for fourteen years, and I wouldn't change it for the world.
Even though her physical body is no longer here on Earth, I will always still talk about her and keep her memory alive. She lives on through sooo many happy stories, memories, photos/videos, through her kids, and so on.
It comforts me knowing that she is getting tons of belly rubs at the Rainbow Bridge and probably is carrying around all of her Chick-fil-A cow "babies," waiting patiently until we meet again, because a year ago today it wasn't a goodbye—it was a "see you later." I'll love her forever. 🩷
Enjoy these few candid pics of my sweet girl. Some are even from her puppyhood and my childhood. :)
