There is an enormous industry built around becoming.
Become healthier. Become happier. Become more productive. Become more regulated. Become more successful. Become the highest version of yourself.
But I’ve become increasingly interested in a different question:
What could happen if we stopped trying to become for a moment — and simply created enough space to notice what’s already there?
Sometimes what feels like exhaustion isn’t a lack of discipline or resilience. It’s the weight of carrying things that no longer fit — old identities, expectations, relationships, coping mechanisms, even dreams we’ve outgrown.
This is part of why I believe so deeply in movement, sound, breath and self-inquiry. Not as ways to fix ourselves, but as ways to create enough quiet to actually hear ourselves.
The work isn’t always about adding something.
Sometimes it’s about putting something down. And making space for what we truly want to hold.
