Every single cell in your body regenerates roughly every 7 years. Biologically speaking, you are not the same person you were a decade ago — and honestly, it would be strange if you were.
So why do we keep measuring ourselves against a version of us that no longer exists?
Your weight and measurements at 20 won’t match 30, 40, 50, or 60 — and that’s not failure, that’s wisdom. Your body composition is constantly adapting to support what your brain, joints, and organs need right now. That’s not decline. That’s intelligence.
These two photos are about 7 years apart. My hair color has changed, my body looks fairly similar on the surface — but underneath, so much has shifted. Because that’s what bodies do. They change. They adapt. They keep working for us, even when we’re not paying attention.
Stop trying to squeeze yourself back into your old jeans or your old identity. Trust the process. Embrace the aging. Embrace the change. Embrace the version of you that’s here now.
