A good Thursday thought for you.

Gratitude is not a feeling you wait to have before you practice it.

That took a long time to understand. And honestly, it changed everything. 🌿

For years, gratitude felt like something other people had. People whose lives were going well, whose fog had lifted, whose circumstances made thankfulness feel natural. Mine didn't feel like that. And every time someone told me to focus on the positive, something in me got a little more resistant.

Then a friend gave me a journal with one simple instruction. Not to be happy. Not to perform thankfulness. Just to find one thing, every day, that was genuinely real and good. One concrete thing. No matter how small.

That instruction removed the pressure entirely. Gratitude wasn't asking me to feel something I didn't. It was asking me to look.

And looking, it turns out, is something anyone can do. Even on the hard days. Even inside the fog. 💛

And slowly, something began to shift. ✨

That whole season, and what came out of it, is something I wrote about honestly in The Selah Journey. If you're in a similar place right now, it might be worth reading together. You can find it here:

Did you know today is actually Leave the Office Early Day? 💻⌚

A real, marked-on-the-calendar nudge to close the laptop before the day is done. And the funny thing is how much we need the nudge at all.

For so many of us, a full schedule started to feel like proof. Proof we were needed. Proof we were useful. Proof we were worth the space we take up. The desire to be needed has a quiet way of overruling the simple truth that we are allowed to be cared for too. 💛

But here is the question worth sitting with. If you stopped doing all the things, even for one afternoon, would you still believe you had value?

You would. You always did. The doing was never what made you worthy. ✨

So let today be the small reminder. The work will still be there tomorrow.

💬 What would you do with an afternoon that finally belonged to you? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!

We spend so much energy preparing for what's ahead that we forget to check what we're actually bringing with us.

Not every habit, belief, or way of showing up deserves a seat in the next season. 💪 Some things we keep carrying are weighing us down. And some things we keep leaving behind are exactly what would steady us.

Before the busyness takes over, it's worth pausing here. Taking stock. Choosing intentionally. 💛

âž¡ Swipe through these five and notice which one stops you. That one is probably the most important right now.

💬 Which one felt like it was written for exactly where you are? Tell us in the comments. We read every single one.

Our first full day in Palau was slow and beautiful and full in all the right ways. 🇵🇼

We explored this Pacific paradise, let the day unfold without rush, and by evening we were sitting at dinner with the warmest people. At some point one of the owners came around and asked how I was feeling about the birthday. He was being funny about it, the way people are. And I just smiled and told him the truth.

The older I get, the happier I am. ✨

I think it is because I have a better understanding of who I am now. What I love. What genuinely fills me. And I have found that I really like being this person. I like exploring as this person.

Every year I am just a little bit more happy because I am really happy to be me.

To everyone who sent birthday love, thank you. You found me wherever I was and made this day even sweeter. 💛

The thought that keeps you stuck and the thought that sets you free can sound exactly the same inside your own head. 😵 That is what makes this so hard. And that is exactly why it is worth slowing down long enough to tell them apart. 🌿

Turning another year older has a way of softening you. Of making you want to give more than you receive. 💛

May has been full of moments like that. Watching this community come together, seeing the book find the right people, feeling grateful for all of it in ways that are hard to put into words.

So with ten days left in May, here is my little birthday offering. Twenty six percent off all coaching offerings through May 31, because May 26 is coming and that felt like the right kind of math.

Comment or DM CAMI26 to say yes to yourself. Curious about what is available? Comment or DM "Count me in" and we will figure out the right fit together. 🎂

Valid May 21 through 31. Excludes the Re-Me Program.

The Selah Journey Photo Scavenger Hunt Photo 7: Ordinary Magic

When we moved to the UAE, we made a quiet little decision. Our space was going to feel like us. Easy. Fun. Changeable. So instead of flowers that need tending, we built some. Two Lego sunflowers in a little glass bottle, sitting right on my desk. And tucked behind them, a tiny silver star wand. For the mornings that need just a little extra magic before the day gets going.

That's it. That's my ordinary magic. 🌻

It's small. It's a little silly. And every single morning, it makes me smile.

Maybe you know what that's like. That one thing in your world that's easy to walk past, easy to overlook, and yet when you actually stop and see it, it fills something in you that needed filling.

How about you, what is your ordinary magic? Share your photo in the comments, on your feed, or both. Tag The Selah Journey and The Hala Journey and use so we can find you and celebrate that small, beautiful thing with you.
