🤒 Sick and breastfeeding? Don't stop nursing!

Many moms worry that a cold, flu, stomach bug, or even COVID means they should stop breastfeeding—but in most cases, the opposite is true. Your body creates antibodies to fight infection, and those protective factors are passed to your baby through your milk. 💙

If you're breastfeeding while sick:

✅ Continue nursing or pumping frequently to protect your milk supply
✅ Watch for signs baby may need additional milk (fewer wet diapers, less satisfaction after feeds)
✅ Prioritize hydration, electrolytes, and nourishing foods
✅ Wash hands frequently and consider masking if you're coughing or sneezing

Many mothers notice a temporary dip in milk production during illness, but supply often rebounds with frequent milk removal and proper support.

A gentle space for mothers and babies to heal, learn, and feel supported. Postpartum Pods by arrive February 2026! 🌟🤱👶

These small groups will meet for six weeks and will be led by our very own Simone Toomer. As an IBCLC and Postpartum Doula, Simone knows how vulnerable the first few months postpartum can be. Joining her each week will be various subject matter experts to provide guidance and support. 👩‍🏫🤝

Whether it's your first baby or your sixth, breastfeeding or formula feeding, all are welcome! Registration is open, come find your village 💕🏡
