What if your back pain isn’t only asking,
“What’s wrong with me?”
What if it’s also asking, “What am I carrying?”

Our backs are literally designed to support us and I believe that makes support an interesting theme to explore when pain becomes persistent.

Who have you been carrying?
Where have you felt unsupported?
What responsibilities have you taken on that were never really yours?
What was happening in your life when the pain started?
I’d like to encourage you to get curious about the whole picture—your body, your nervous system, your stress, your relationships, your beliefs that shaped your life and your story.

Healing begins when we stop fighting the body and start listening to it.

Swipe through and notice what resonates. You don’t need every slide to fit your story. Just pay attention to the one that makes you pause.

Save this one for a day when your back is asking for a little more support. 🤍

Let’s talk about back pain!
When we think about the back, think about one word:
SUPPORT.

Our back physically supports us—and from a mind-body perspective, pain in this area can be an invitation to explore where we may have felt unsupported emotionally, financially, relationally, or even by ourselves.
Where the pain shows up can give us another layer to get curious about.

Upper back.
Mid back.
Lower back

Each area can bring up different emotional themes which I break down in this video.
The location is simply a place to start asking questions.

What was happening in my life when this began?

Who or what was I carrying?

Where did I feel unsupported emotionally or financially?

What responsibility did I believe was mine to hold?

Was I worried about safety, stability, money or my future?

What have I been holding onto that my body may finally be asking me to acknowledge?

Sometimes healing begins when we stop asking only
“How do I make this pain go away?”
and start asking—
“What does my body need me to hear?” 🤍

Save or share this one if back pain has been part of your story.

What if your pain isn’t just something to get rid of… but something to get curious about? 🤍

One of the biggest shifts I see happen in healing is when we stop looking at the body as something that is betraying us and start asking what it may be trying to communicate.

Pain is real. There can absolutely be physical reasons for it. But the body is also connected to our nervous system, our emotions, our experiences, our stress, and the stories we’ve carried and sometimes, the location of our pain gives us an interesting place to begin exploring.

Left vs. right.
Front vs. back.
Upper vs. lower.
Even the chakra or energetic center associated with that area of the body.

None of these are meant to be a diagnosis or a formula that says, “If you hurt here, it means this.”

They’re an invitation to get curious.

✨ What was happening in my life when this pain began?
✨ Where have I felt unsupported?
✨ What have I been carrying?
✨ What am I afraid to move toward?
✨ What have I never allowed myself to feel or say?

Over the next several weeks, I’m going to take you through the body one area at a time—back, shoulders, neck, jaw, hips, knees, feet and more—and share some of the questions I use in mind-body work.

My hope is that you begin to see your body a little differently.

Not as the enemy.
But as a messenger. 🤍

Save this post because we’re going to come back to it throughout the series.

What is your body trying to tell you?
Tell me in the comments, what physical pain, disease, diagnosis, or trauma you are overcoming and let’s talk about it!

I spent a lot of years looking outside of myself for answers.
Doctors, medication, tests upon tests.
What should I do?
What’s the “right” choice?
What does someone else think is best for me?

But healing has taught me that some of our greatest guidance doesn’t come from outside of us—it comes from learning how to listen within.
Your intuition.
Your values.
Your nervous system.

Your body is constantly communicating with you. And the more you learn to feel safe enough to listen, the less you need someone else to tell you what you already know. And sometimes the next step isn’t about finding another answer.

It’s about getting quiet enough to hear your own. 🤍

I’m so excited to finally share this. 🤍

After months of learning, growing, practicing, and diving deeply into this work, Jodi Stonehocker is officially a certified Pain Free for Good Mind-Body Coach!

I have had the privilege of personally training Jodi in the mind-body coaching process, and I couldn’t be more proud of the coach she has become.

Jodi brings such a beautiful combination of compassion, intuition, life experience, and a genuine desire to help people understand what their bodies are trying to communicate.

She has learned how to help others look beyond symptoms and explore the connection between the mind, body, spirit, emotions, and nervous system—so they can uncover what may be keeping them stuck and begin creating lasting change.

One of the things I love most about this work is watching someone reclaim their power over their own healing. And now I get to watch Jodi help others do the same. 🤍

I am so excited for the lives she is going to touch.

Please join me in congratulating Jodi on this huge accomplishment!🥳🥰🫶🏼

How many of you realize the deepest aspect of your pain is actually the internal conflict with yourself???

Most people think healing is about fixing something.

But your body isn’t broken—
it’s responding exactly as it was designed to.

Your brain’s primary job is to keep you safe.
And when it perceives threat (even emotional or internal), it creates protective responses: tension, stress, pain.

This is why fighting yourself doesn’t work.
It reinforces the very signal your body is trying to resolve.

Healing isn’t force.
It’s not pushing through.
It’s not overriding your body.

It’s changing the signal.

From threat → safety
From resistance → awareness
From protection → regulation

This is where the nervous system resets and the body softens.

You don’t heal by becoming someone new…
you heal by creating safety within yourself.

We are not here for a bandaid fix…

You don’t need fixing.
You need awareness and truth.
You need the willingness to feel what you’ve been avoiding.

That is where healing lives.

We think closure comes from one more conversation.
One more explanation.
One more chance to be understood.

But closure often comes from something quieter.

The moment you stop explaining your worth to someone who refuses to see it.

Closure isn’t about them finally understanding.

It’s about you finally releasing the need for them to.

That’s the moment your power comes back.
