Yesterday, I witnessed one of the most terrifying events of my life. A propane tank exploded at a concession stand right across the street from us. The impact was profound, especially since I'm in the same industry. Those umbrellas in the shot? Theyβre mine. We were so close.
It hit me hard thinking that it could have been me or the wonderful people I work with and care about deeply. I'm immensely grateful that no one was seriously injured. The thought of what could have happened brings me to the brink of tears.
One brave man tried to turn off the tank and ended up with 2nd degree burns. He's in pain but thankfully, he's okay. The fireball was enormous, and there was nothing anyone could do. We could hear the gas hissing out for several minutes, fueling the flames. I'm just so relieved it's over.
And I'm so grateful to the firefighters who came on the scene β€οΈ
