Friends of WVU Hospitals, Volunteer Services & Friends Gift Shop Volunteer Services & Friends Gift Shop Our Volunteer Services office provides over 40 departments throughout WVU Medicine with volunteers.

We have Junior Volunteers ranging in age from 14-17; Student Volunteers and Adult Volunteers. In 2011 466 volunteers served 22,816 hours at WVU Healthcare. Friends Gift Shop provides patients, their families, staff and the community a wide variety of items for purchase. Visitors to Friends Gift Shop will find something for everyone.

Today we had the honor of watching our 2025-2026 Project SEARCH interns graduate!
We are so proud of this class and we can’t wait to see all that they achieve!

Tyler Hoffman
Tyler is a graduate of East Fairmont High School. He completed rotations with the Ambulatory Clinic and Sterile Processing. Tyler has accepted a position in Sterile Processing. He is the 1st intern employed in Sterile Processing and the 1st intern employed in this year’s class. Tyler completed training for his Food Handler’s Card, Stop the Bleed, and CPR
First Aid.

Jarrett Hermance
Jarrett is a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. He completed rotations in Pharmacy, 2 West Perioperative Care, and Administration. Jarrett completed training for his Food Handler’s Card, Stop the Bleed, and CPR First Aid. Jarrett accepted a position as a 2W Perioperative Care Assistant.

Jude Delaney
Jude completed his high school requirements virtually at the age of 16. He is the youngest intern to complete WVU Hospitals Project SEARCH Program. Jude completed rotations in Transport and 5 West Perioperative Care. Jude has accepted a position in Central Transport. Jude completed training for his Food Handler’s Card, Stop the Bleed, and CPR First Aid. Jude has accepted a position with Central Transport.

Kevin Slavic
Kevin is a graduate of University High School. Kevin completed rotations in Administration, the Rosenbaum Family House and Nutrition Services. Kevin completed training for his
Food Handler’s Card, Stop the Bleed, and CPR First Aid. Kevin has accepted a position in Nutrition Services.

Daniel Acosta
Daniel is a graduate of Morgantown High School. Daniel completed rotations in Nutrition Services, Friends Gift Shop and Supply Chain. Daniel is actively seeking employment in Nutrition Services or retail. Daniel completed training for his Food Handler’s Card, Stop the Bleed, and CPR First Aid.
