Day 3 of the steroid infusion and Haley’s monthly Pentamidine treatment.
Once we get back home we will start a Nucala injection (3 shots once a month) to reduce the amount of eosinophils in her body and also a 10 day round of oral steroids. When she finishes the 10 day course, her daily dose of prednisolone will also go up to 10mg daily.
Please pray this treatment stops the rejection

Sorry its been a while since I have updated. I just wanted to get the results from the dr and a plan in place before I gave an update. We are sad to say that Haley is still in rejection. It hasn’t gotten any worse. It’s still mild rejection, grade A2 and treatable. We just have to get it under control. We have 3 treatment options at this time.
#1- Another 3 day dose of IV steroids
#2- ECP. Which is the photopheresis she was doing with the 1st transplant. It will require her to have a port placed and travel 2x weekly to Nashville for treatment. After several months the treatment will go down to twice every other week and so on until its down to 2x a month. This is a lengthy treatment and takes a lot out of her.
#3- ATG(Anti-thymocyte globulin) It is an immunosuppressant drug made of antibodies that target and destroy human T-cells. It suppresses the immune system to prevent the body from attacking itself or rejecting foreign tissue. She will have to be in patient in Texas for this treatment. It is also hard on the body and will be more susceptible to illness.
We are going to start with the first option because it is easier on the body and has less side effects. We will do a 3 day course of IV Steroids in 2 weeks and then return to Houston in 2-3 weeks to have a lung biopsy, change her stent and have a routine check up with all of her other doctors.
