We spend 9 months watching the baby. Then we send Mom home.
And in 🇺🇸 America, as many as 40% of women don’t receive a postpartum visit. 😡

Meanwhile, MORE than 1 in 5 pregnant or postpartum people experience a maternal mental health condition. (Many women also return to work within 7-14 days after delivery.

This is not good enough.

Eric spent years caring for women through pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum—and truthfully, he misses catching babies. ❤️

One day, we hope to bring birth care back into what we do at FemmeCare.

But we aren’t waiting until then to start caring for pregnant people.

We want to meet you BEFORE your baby is born.

We can establish care during pregnancy, talk about your birth and postpartum plans, assess your mental health and support system, and schedule a mental health check within ONE WEEK after delivery.

And in the Peoria area, we can come to your home.

Because after everyone asks, “How’s the baby?”

Someone needs to ask, “How are YOU?”

We could say “f**k around and find out.” We could say “you made your bed, now lie in it.”

But no.

Human rights don’t only belong to people we agree with. We don’t get to cheer government cruelty because the person on the receiving end once supported it.

We can hold people accountable for the harm they helped enable and still refuse to accept brutality from our own government.

That’s the difference between revenge and justice.

No one deserves an unchecked government. Not even the people who helped build one.
