🎉 It’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)!

This year's theme, "Celebrating Value and Talent," recognizes the skills, strengths, and contributions that people with disabilities bring to workplaces and communities across the country.

ECLIPSE aims to expand pathways to competitive integrated employment for college students with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Idaho by strengthening career preparation, increasing internship opportunities, and building partnerships with campus and community employers.

💙💛 October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month!

Throughout October, we recognize and celebrate individuals with Down syndrome, their accomplishments, and the importance of building inclusive communities where everyone has opportunities to learn, work, and thrive!

At ECLIPSE, we believe that access to inclusive higher education and meaningful employment plays an important role in expanding those opportunities. College experiences, career exploration, internships, and competitive integrated employment provide pathways for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Down syndrome, to explore their interests, develop skills, and pursue their personal and professional goals.

Down Syndrome Awareness Month also reminds us of the importance of challenging misconceptions, breaking down barriers, and advocating for greater access and inclusion in education, employment, and beyond.

Applications are NOW OPEN for the EAGLE Program at the College of Southern Idaho! 🦅

The EAGLE Program is a two-year inclusive post-secondary education program designed for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Through college courses, internships, career exploration, and campus experiences, students have opportunities to build independence, develop career skills, and actively participate in college life!

EAGLE is preparing to welcome its first students in Spring 2027!

The program focuses on empowering students through achievement, growth, learning, and employment, helping them work toward their personal and professional goals, including competitive integrated employment.

What a great week in New Orleans! ⚜️

Members of the ECLIPSE team attended and presented at the Division on Career Development and Transition (DCDT) International Conference, sharing research and practical strategies to support students with disabilities in higher education and employment.

Our team presented on Reverse Career Fairs, highlighting how these student-centered events provide opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to showcase their skills, interests, and work experiences while connecting with potential employers.

In another session, Dr. Jeremy Ford and Dr. Peighton Pratt joined Boise State University doctoral candidate Julia Gorman to share findings from a statewide study exploring the experiences of college students with disabilities, including disability disclosure, accommodations, accessibility, and sense of belonging.

It was a great opportunity to share our work, connect with colleagues, and continue conversations about advancing inclusive postsecondary education and competitive integrated employment!

PEERS student, Cody, has been busy at his job at Negranti by Belong. Cody found this job on his own and started working there over summer break!

Negranti by Belong is an ice cream shop that opened this location in April 2026 and proudly employs 15 adults with disabilities.

Vandal QUEST students are starting the semester with some hands-on learning! 🌱

Students and staff recently worked with Vandal HARVEST to learn about the hydroponic greenhouse project, including the germination and transplanting process. Together, they transplanted 80 plants that will eventually provide fresh food for the Vandal Food Pantry!

Student had the opportunity to learn more about the project and explore whether working with Vandal HARVEST might be something they’re interested in this semester.

What a great way to kick off the new school year!
