So grateful. šŸ¤

Our weekend immersion was bliss — beautiful weather, amazing humans, nourishing food, grounding and expressive practices, time in community, and the abundance of nature and all she provides.

Time to slow down.
To create.
To move.
To breathe.
To connect.

A beautiful reminder of how much can happen when we make space for simply being.

Still taking it all in. šŸ¤ šŸ™šŸ½ Jennie Sewell

Gathering around the table to create alongside others has a way of changing how we experience ourselves in the moment.

We slow down. We settle.

We become absorbed in the process rather than focused on the outcome.

Conversation unfolds naturally. Ideas are shared. Curiosity replaces expectation.

Creativity isn’t only about making something beautiful.

It’s a process of noticing.
A practice of curiosity.
Allowing something to unfold without knowing exactly where it will lead.

This evening was a small glimpse into what becomes possible when we gather to create together.

On August 22, we’ll have the gift of an entire day to explore botanicals through a variety of creative experiences, share a seasonal, plant-based meal and refreshing summer beverages, enjoy time poolside and in the fields, and make space to create, rest, and reconnect.

I’d love to have you join us.

Yoga isn’t asking us to be or feel a particular way. It’s asking us to become available to, and aware of, our experience.

One of the women who attended a recent workshop shared that afterwards she cried. She wasn’t sure why. It wasn’t necessarily sadness, but she became aware of how much she usually keeps pushed down.

Over the years, I’ve heard similar reflections and have experienced this firsthand myself. It’s not something we talk about very often, but I think it’s important.

The study and practice of classical yoga is not one of fitness in the modern sense. It is the study of ourselves through the refinement of awareness—observing the body, breath, mind, and the movement of prana with increasing sensitivity. Through thoughtful sequencing, alignment, breath, and sustained observation, it becomes profoundly supportive of the whole of who we are—not just our bodies, but our minds, our nervous systems, and the way we move through the world.

Through that practice, there are moments when we open. Moments when something we’ve been holding no longer needs to be held. Moments when we discover a new way of being.

Imagine spending a day with botanicals, community and creativity.

Feeling the texture of a leaf pressed into clay. Watching flowers leave their color behind on fabric. Blending herbs by feel. Gathering around a table to share a meal inspired by the season.

Each experience invites us to slow down, to tend to ourselves in nature, through awareness, perception and without expectation.

To become absorbed in the quiet satisfaction of making something with our hands.

A way of connecting—with the natural world, with one another, and with ourselves.

On August 22, we’ll spend the day exploring botanicals through a variety of creative experiences, enjoying a seasonal botanical-inspired meal and refreshing summer beverages, relaxing poolside, and making space to create, rest, and enjoy being together.

You don’t need artistic experience, just the desire to be curious and explore during a day of creativityšŸƒ

There’s something deeply satisfying about giving a fleeting moment in nature a lasting home in clay.

I’ve been completely captivated by botanical impressions lately and can’t wait to share this process with you!!

First, the vision of the shape, then the leaves and flowers are pressed into the clay. Then carefully peeled away, leaving behind every vein, every edge, every delicate detail. A wash is brushed over the surface, settling into those tiny impressions, revealing the pattern in all its depth.

It’s slow, grounding and quite mesmerizing to experience.A chance to slow down and to spend time in nature, create with our hands, and capture a lasting impression of the season.

I’ll be sharing this practice at Jewelweed on July 15 and again as a part of my Day of Creativity Retreat in Minnetrista on August 22.

What impression will you make ? šŸ”—in bio to registeršŸ”—

The pelvic floor is an area of the body that deserves more understanding, honest conversation, and nurturing.

This workshop began with sharing questions, experiences, and noticing how we each feel in relationship to our pelvic floor.

Then we moved into observation, learning to sense the pelvic dome and its layers.

From there we explored the relationship between the three diaphragms, how alignment influences the breath, and how the actions of the tailbone, pelvis, and legs influence the response of the pelvic floor. We worked with subtle lifting through alignment and breath.

We finished with restorative work to relieve pressure, release tension, and create more ease.

Thank you to the women who spent the morning with me. I hope more of us have the opportunity to better understand and nurture this remarkable part of our bodies.
