May 2000 Grace SalonSpa opened in its current location in I'On Square. May 2001 began my adventures at Grace as receptionist. January 2004 I
purchased the salon, knowing I loved this place, and wanted to continue building the vision the owners had for this lovely small business.
Fast forward to May 2026 ... the time has come for me to fulfill my goals of owning this gem. I am pleased to announce I am passing the crown!👸🏻
And I am equally happy to share that Emily Brown (yes, our Emily that has been a stylist here since 2010) will be the new owner!🤩
This new chapter in my life has come with many emotions. 25 years at one job is a long time, and I have so many memories over the years … some fabulous, some funny and some a bit painful. (Too much to write about in one sitting, so you will have to wait for my hilarious adventures to be published.) Mostly right now I am a grateful...for the many wonderful people I met along the way. For my family who supported me on initiating this adventure. For my partner for being my cheerleader (and handyman!) when there was a crisis and I didn’t have the energy to carry on. For my first stylists working for me back in 2001, all those behind the chair since then and for my most recently hired in 2025. For my many front of the house receptionists who were and are the glue for us all. For all my helpful AVEDA SDPs (Go AVEDA! I will forever be faithful to your products, as well as your mission to save our planet). And for many reasons, I am grateful for the thousands of guests like YOU whom have entered our doors, many of younow in my inner circle of friends. I will fondly cherish our chats, our hugs, our gossip sessions, our wine sessions, giving your kids their first haircuts and watching them graduate, get married, have babies of their own!
And please know this isn’t goodbye. I will be helping Emily and the girls in this new transition, and there are many of you with whom I want to share hugs and more stories! And while I do not have a exact plan for my next career, for now I am going to enjoy grand adventures without care, leisurely lunches with friends, and dreams of good things to come! XO LauraD
