Siskiyou Opportunity Center Siskiyou Opportunity Center empowers adults with developmental disabilities by providing job training and skill-building opportunities. Est. 1970

Our day programs focus on community integration, daily living skills, and fostering independence. Siskiyou Opportunity Center is a non-profit organization that has been a service for adults with developmental disabilities in Siskiyou County since 1970. It is our mission to spread inclusivity while also providing access to comprehensive and integrated services that primarily focuses on community in

clusion with some employment aspects to support independence. We focus on social determinants of community integration so that our clients may pursue activities that add value to their lives. It is our belief that our clientele can achieve their long-term goals by offering services that engage them in consistent and coordinated ways. We advocate for community integration because becoming locally involved gives our clients a sense of who they are, what peaks their interest and what promotes a healthy lifestyle that impacts their lives in a meaningful way.

Our very first prom was an incredible success with more than 80 staff clients and special guests coming together for evening filled with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories. From the decorations to the music and the smiles shared throughout the night it was truly a celebration of friendship, community and joy. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped to make this event so special. We already can’t wait to do it all again… Prom 2027 here we come!

SOC is currently looking for a guest speaker to present at our staff meeting on June 12 at 1:30 PM in Yreka. We are interested in presentations covering topics such as health and wellness, workplace safety, or any area of expertise that could positively impact and educate our staff.

We welcome engaging speakers who can provide valuable information, practical knowledge, and meaningful discussion for our team. If you believe your experience or specialty would be a great fit, we would love the opportunity to connect with you.

On Friday night, SOC hosted its first Prom, a wonderful evening of dancing, karaoke, and fine dining. The staff's tireless efforts resulted in an exceptional event, and we are grateful for their hard work. The attendance surpassed our expectations, with at least 80 guests attending what was truly the best event ever, exceeding our initial estimate of 60. 🎉🙏👏
