⟡ There are moments when the heavens stop feeling distant.
When the night sky is no longer something above us, but something we can feel ourselves inside of.
Constellations become more than points of light — They become orientation.
Memory.
Relationship.
The rising of Sirius.
The turning of seasons.
The migrations of animals.
The arrival of rains.
The flowering of plants.
There was a time when this was simply part of knowing how to live.
Sky and Earth were read together.
The heavens moved through the waters, the animals, the plants, the seasons, the body.
Human beings understood themselves inside that movement.
Perhaps this is one of the deeper remembrances returning now — We are not beneath the cosmos. We are expressions of it.
⟡ This is part of the prayer we are carrying into Gateway of the Living Temple, Sept 3–7 in Mount Shasta, CA ⟡
There are places where the relationship between Earth and sky feels especially present — Shasta is one of those places for us.
Mountain rising toward the heavens.
Water moving from snow and stone.
Night opening into constellations.
The living Earth beneath our feet and the celestial field extending beyond anything we can measure.
— There, we will gather within relationship. —
And somewhere within that meeting, something ancient may become recognizable again.
A remembering of how to listen.
How to orient.
How to receive.
How to stand upon the Earth while remaining in relationship with the vastness we come from.
Star and soil.
Heaven and Earth.
Breath and body.
Seen and unseen.
Maybe you have felt it lately…
A greater sensitivity.
A deeper listening.
