Meet Janet Garner, Activities Director at Lawrence County Manor!

Janet graduated from Miller High School and says she was blessed with many wonderful teachers along the way.

Her journey at LCM began in October 2006, when she started by making beds and stocking supplies in residents’ rooms. In 2013, she moved into activities while also taking CNA classes and worked both as an Activities Assistant and CNA in the Special Care Unit. In 2016, Janet became our Activities Director.

For Janet, activities are about more than keeping residents busy. Her goal is to help each resident enjoy a better quality of life and create moments they can look forward to.

Outside of work, Janet loves spending time with her family. Her faith is also an important part of her life, and if she could have dinner with anyone, she would choose Billy Graham, Jonathan Roumie, and Jesus.

We’re grateful for the joy, care, and creativity Janet brings to our residents every day! 💙

We went fishing! 🎣

The morning started off a little chilly, but it didn’t take long for the weather to warm up and turn into a beautiful day. Our residents enjoyed being by the water, spending time together, and soaking up the fresh air. 💛

🌟 New Resident Spotlight: Sandy McCall 🌟

We’re happy to welcome Sandy McCall to Lawrence County Manor!

Sandy grew up in Springfield and was an only child, but says she always had a dog by her side for companionship. After graduation, she spent 23 years working at General Electric.

Sandy and her husband raised a son and daughter and have now been married for 56 years. She recently came to LCM to be closer to her husband, who lives at the Veteran’s Home. Their son helps bring him over to visit, allowing them to continue spending special time together. 💛

We’re so glad to have Sandy as part of the LCM family!

On September 17, LCM joined people across the country for Bells Across America in recognition of Constitution Day. 🔔

At 3:00 PM, our residents and staff rang a bell to mark the 239th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, which was signed on September 17, 1787.

It was a simple but meaningful way to take part in a nationwide tradition and recognize an important moment in American history. 🇺🇸

💜 Today is World Alzheimer’s Day, a day to bring awareness to Alzheimer’s disease and recognize the individuals and families affected by it.

At Lawrence County Manor, our Memory Care units are designed to provide specialized support for residents living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other memory-related conditions.

Our team focuses on creating a calm, supportive environment with familiar routines, meaningful activities, and compassionate care tailored to each resident’s needs.

We know memory loss affects the whole family, and our goal is to provide both quality care for residents and peace of mind for the people who love them.
