โSo the PGT-A result will tell us if our embryo is normal or abnormal right?โ
Not exactly. ๐
When we run PGT-A, we donโt touch the cells that become your baby.
We biopsy the trophectoderm. The outer cells. The ones destined to become the placenta. 5 to 10 cells, from the outside and thatโs the whole sample.
The inner cell mass, that clump of cells in the middle go on to become your baby. We leave them completely alone.
So the result can come back euploid, aneuploid, low mosaic, high mosaic.... or at times inconclusiveโฆ.
In this masterclass I dove into the world of mosaic embryos, how they come about and what the research tells us.
Iโve biopsied many of these embryos myself. Now I help you understand yours. ๐
