The East Central Indiana Area Health Education Center is pleased to award the 2026 Outstanding Preceptor Award to Dr. Daniel Livera at IU Health Jay County Hospital. Dr. Livera has been fantastic with providing clinical experiences in Family Medicine rotations to our third year IU Medicine students. Placing health professions students in rural communities helps them to understand the needs here. Doing rural rotations increases the odds that students will serve in these areas.

We're excited to share big changes coming to the ICC this fall! The Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder (CASD) and the Psychoeducational Diagnostic Intervention Clinic (PDIC) part of Ball State University Teachers College are joining the ICCs to provide their patient services in our beautiful clinic spaces. If that wasn't exciting enough, be prepared to get really excited because the Healthy Lifestyle Center is expanding to offer Primary Care Services and has hired two Nurse Practitioners. You can read more about all of the changes on the College of Health blog https://blogs.bsu.edu/coh/2026/07/29/changes/

As we head into warmer weather and sunny summer days, ask yourself if you're ready to improve your health? The Healthy Lifestyle Center is here to help you improve your health and wellness. We are here to help individuals assess their health with vital health screenings for blood pressure, A1C, blood glucose, glaucoma, and bone density. Patients can then meet with our team to figure out next steps, whether that is attending our free workout classes, referrals to community resources, or meeting with dietetic or exercise students for more tailored plans, the first step is making an appointment for consultation. Email us the Healthy Lifestyle Center at: [email protected] or call 765-285-1293

It's not as cool as the first day of summer, but it is the first day for Chair Yoga at the Muncie Senior Center. This free class hosted by the Healthy Lifestyle Center, is an additional class option to help you get fit this summer. This is a free class open to all ages, but the routine is designed to support fitness in older adults. If you've never been to the Muncie Senior Center at 2517 W 8th St. in Muncie, this is a great opportunity to check it out. They have convenient parking for all events.
