This is hard with autism,
sometimes you just don’t know what’s going on in their head and it’s hard. Sister Bug tonight started randomly crying and I didn’t know what was wrong. The best thing I can do as her mama is just rubber head and let her know I love her but man it’s hard when you don’t know what’s going on with your child. 

Me and Nicholas definitely can relate to this post🥺

Make sure you you have great conversations with your child… because some parents pray for that..

I love this family! I love what Annie said “Don’t be afraid for accommodations. “You are their safe space momma.

DID YOU KNOW..
that one of the biggest stressors for children is going to a doctor? This makes me particularly thankful for our dentist. He is the kindest, gentlest, most accommodating dr. Henry, on the other hand, isn’t as thankful for dental visits and requires the pediatric wrap. I get it, this keeps him and the staff who are helping him safe. But, I want so badly to be able to say, “You’re safe. I’m here. This is for a few minutes not forever.” (and him understand) I’ve learned how to be there for him in another way though . It doesn’t matter if it’s called a pedi wrap or a warm hug…a restraint is a restraint. I can be his voice and respectfully request that the restraint stay on for the shortest amount of time possible. Our dr eliminates the wait between the cleaning and his follow up examination. Don’t be afraid to ask for this accommodation mamas-this request has always been met with kindness.
(Henry was very brave today!)
