Alexandria “Alex” Dycus is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a background in emergency medicine and primary care. She brings more than seven years of nursing experience to VitalRenew and is passionate about providing thoughtful, individualized care that helps patients improve their health and overall quality of life.
Alex earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Arkansas State University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marian University and a Bachelor of Science from Middle Tennessee State University. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Alex spent much of her nursing career in emergency medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she cared for patients with a wide range of acute and complex health conditions. She later transitioned into primary care as a Family Nurse Practitioner, gaining experience in preventive care, chronic disease management, and the treatment of patients across the lifespan.
Her experiences in emergency and primary care medicine developed into an interest in a more comprehensive approach to health—one that considers not only a patient’s symptoms, but also the underlying factors that may be affecting how they feel and function. At VitalRenew, Alex is excited to further her knowledge of functional and integrative medicine while combining those principles with her foundation in evidence-based medical care. She values taking the time to listen to her patients, understand their individual concerns and goals, and partner with them to create realistic, personalized plans for better health.
Outside of the clinic, Alex is a mother of three and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and life on her small farm in Middle Tennessee. As a busy mom herself, she understands how easily personal health can take a back seat to the demands of everyday life and is passionate about helping her patients feel supported as they make their own health and well-being a priority.
