This perfect baby boy decided to come in the quiet & peaceful early morning! Mama labored so well at home & pulled up to hospital at 9 1/2 centimeters! We all made it just in time for her to push & birth a surprise baby boy 🩵! So honored to be doula a 2nd time with this sweet family.

Health care in the United States is increasingly team-based, and doulas—who often provide emotional, physical, and educational support for patients during birth, the postpartum period, and beyond—are valuable members of many care teams.

ACOG’s new clinical guidance encourages ob-gyn collaboration with doulas and gives ob-gyns the tools they need to better understand a doula’s role. It also highlights the importance of stronger partnerships between clinicians and doulas, which can provide vital support across the lifespan—including during and after pregnancy—and can lead to better patient outcomes.

Doula Baby #207 came into the world this morning @ 3:56am! 14 hours laboring with my client. I can’t wait til this mama shares her story. It brings so much Joy to my heart!
She labored for 24 all full of God & his angels filling the room.

A room of uncertainty

A room of hope

A room with a birth team determined to have a positive outcome

A room filled with Faith & knowing that God had the last say so!
God guided me & the nurses in doing all the moves to get a sweet baby here. I mean my body is definitely feeling all the work we put in, while helping this mama do hard work to meet her sweet baby girl! Dad was amazing support as well.

Building relationships & talking with providers can definitely contribute to them being willing to listen & to exhaust all things possible for a successful vaginal birth as long as mama & baby are safe. Ask all the questions! I truly believe that’s what happened during this birth. 🙌🏽🙏🏽👏🏽♥️

Gorgeous Doula baby #206 was born today @ 6:47am & weighing 5lbs 6oz! This mama had her unmedicated birth & did amazing! This was due to me being back-up for my sis

♥️Midwifery Student Life♥️
Headed to a home birth this morning @ 5:30am to assist my preceptor, then left there around 8:50am to head in for our Friday prenatal visits! This is what we do. We get the births in, skills in, & all the things to become safe & confident midwives. I really love this work🥰
