☕ Meet the Coffee Club – Meet Ron Lindsey!
Most mornings, you’ll find Ron Lindsey enjoying coffee and conversation with the Reeves-Sain Coffee Club, which I now know is officially called “The Walking Eagles.”
Ron has called Murfreesboro home for 20 years after retiring from a career as a Biomedical Engineer. His coffee order? Just a little non-sugar sweetener—simple and to the point.
He was asked what advice he’d give the younger generation, Ron didn’t hesitate:
💬 “Communicate without phones. Social media is ruining fellowship.”
One of Ron’s favorite Murfreesboro memories is returning to Reeves-Sain after the shutdown, when friends could once again gather around the coffee table.
Ron was asked the secret to a long, happy life, he said:
🌅 “Get up early every morning… even though I’m retired.”
The origins of The Coffee Club: Ron recalled that David Dorris invited him to join about 18 years ago. Since then, the group has become an important part of his daily routine.
Of course, every great group has its rules. The biggest one?
🤫 “What is happens in The Coffee Club stays in The Coffee Club!”
When asked what’s one lesson he’s learned in life that everyone should hear, Ron’s answer reflected the humor and camaraderie that make The Walking Eagles so special:
❤️ “We are The Walking Eagles. Most of what we talk about is true… sometimes a little B.S. creeps into the conversation—but we all know it!”
Thank you, Ron, for sharing your story and for reminding us that God, good coffee, good friends, and good conversation never go out of style.
☕ Stay tuned as we continue introducing the wonderful members of The Walking Eagles!
