Art exhibit & exhibition starting today with Daisy Grimes.

-Patterns by Daisy-

September 1st - 18th Daisy's art exhibit will be up for viewing.
The 18th opening reception will start at 3pm with Daisy hanging out answering questions and talking art followed by presentations about her art & live music. There will be hors d'oeuvres and beverages served throughout the event.

Week to week, day to day, moment to moment - everyday life can sometimes feel like
nothing but the repetition of habits and patterns. We are ushered on to the next checkpoint until
it is finally time to sink into bed, pull up the covers, and wait for the cycle to continue when the
sun rises. Friends and loved ones become notifications on a screen, and the hours in the day
continue to tick by. Emotional distance from one another grows more prominent with the
passage of time, but is it enough to spark desire to break the familiar cycle? Is the comfort of
repetition worth the sacrifice of community? Is pushing through these patterns meant to be the
standard of daily life, or are we fundamentally made for more personal interconnectedness?
This body of work uses fibers and printmaking techniques to explore concepts of habit,
community, isolation, and the search for belonging. -Patterns by Daisy-

Daisy Grimes is a resident of Murray KY and a graduate of Murray State University, with
a Bachelor’s Degree in studio arts. She is a printmaker and fiber artist whose work explores
isolation, human connection, and rural small-scale agriculture. Her work is greatly influenced by
natural and floral motifs, imagery of animals and farming equipment, and earthy color palettes.
Her work conveys the value of establishing community and ponders the modern obstacles that prevent us from doing so.
