Never Forget 🇺🇸🙏❤️

This September holds a particularly solemn space in our hearts as we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11th, 2001. On this milestone anniversary, we honor and remember the lives lost on that tragic day, as well as the heroic first responders and service men and women who answered the call. In moments of shared memory, we are reminded of the resilience of the human spirit and the power of unity and compassion.

The August Full Moon - The Sturgeon Moon 🌕🐟

The August Full Moon is here, and it’s a perfect time to step outside and look up. Known traditionally as the Sturgeon Moon, this late-summer celestial event carries a name as unique as the history behind it.

Why Is It Called The Sturgeon Moon?

The name dates back centuries, rooted in the traditions of Native American tribes in the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain regions. August was the time when the giant lake sturgeon—a prehistoric “living fossil” that can grow up to 6 feet long—would rise near the surface to feed, making them easier to catch. For these communities, this moon signaled a crucial season of abundance and harvest.

Atmospheric Color: Because the moon sits lower on the horizon during late summer evenings, it often takes on a warm, golden, or even reddish hue as its light filters through more of the Earth’s atmosphere.

Cultural Significance: this lunar cycle has served as a vital calendar for agriculture and gathering for generations.
