The right people do more than fill a room. They change what the room can see.

Decades in medicine have taught me that the strongest decisions rarely come from one voice alone.

They happen when experience meets a new perspective.
When physicians listen to patients.
When established leaders make room for younger voices.
When people from different disciplines are willing to challenge one another with respect.

And sometimes the most important leadership question is simply:

Who is still missing from this conversation?

To me, leadership is not about having the most important seat at the table.

It is about recognizing who else needs to be there.

As I prepare to return to Egypt, I think about this often.

Egypt already has remarkable physicians, educators, entrepreneurs, innovators, business leaders, and professionals with international experience.

The opportunity is not simply having all that talent.

It is connecting it around the right conversations.

Because sometimes progress does not require another speech, another title, or even another idea.

Sometimes it requires the right person entering the room.

Who do you believe needs a stronger voice in the conversations shaping Egypt’s future?

I would genuinely value your perspective.

Some of the most important healthcare decisions happen before anyone enters a hospital.

Before the emergency.
Before disease becomes advanced.
Before treatment becomes more difficult.

That is where prevention begins.

Earlier detection.
Regular screening.
Better health education.
Metabolic health.
Daily choices that protect health over time.

Hospitals, physicians, technology, and treatment will always be essential. But after decades in medicine, I have learned to ask another question just as seriously:

What could we have done earlier?

For Egypt, I believe prevention deserves to stand alongside medical excellence, innovation, physician education, and advanced treatment as part of the same healthcare conversation.

Because prevention is not simply about avoiding illness.

It is about helping people live healthier for longer.
Helping families recognize risk earlier.
Helping communities stay stronger.
And giving future generations a healthier foundation on which to build.

Egypt already has tremendous medical talent and healthcare expertise. The opportunity is to strengthen the connection between excellent treatment and what happens before treatment is ever needed.

As an Egyptian-American physician preparing to return to Egypt, this is one of the conversations I care deeply about advancing.

If you could strengthen one area of prevention for Egyptian families today, where would you begin — early screening, nutrition, metabolic health, health education, or something else?

I would genuinely value your perspective.

Cancer changes more than the body.

It can change the rhythm of a family, the shape of an ordinary day, and the way tomorrow feels.

For me, great cancer care has always meant holding two responsibilities at once: treating the disease with medical seriousness and caring for the whole person living through it.

Whole-person cancer care connects physicians, communication, follow-up, quality of life, family needs, and the patient’s own priorities around one human being.

Egypt gave me my roots. Four decades of medicine gave me experience that I now want to bring home—working alongside Egypt’s skilled physicians and committed healthcare institutions.

My mission is to build upon Egypt’s existing strengths, strengthen international medical collaboration, and help advance connected, patient-centered cancer care in Egypt and beyond.

Because healthier people strengthen families. Stronger families strengthen communities. And stronger communities create a brighter Egypt.

If cancer has touched your family, what made you feel truly cared for—not only treated?

A patient is a family. Not a file.

Alexandria taught me that lesson before medicine ever did.

When someone is sick, the diagnosis does not belong to one person alone. A family worries, hopes, asks questions, and carries the journey with them.

That understanding has stayed with me throughout my years in medicine.

Clinical excellence matters. Treatment matters. But the person in front of us must never disappear behind the diagnosis.

The future of healthcare begins with seeing the human being first.

As I prepare to return to Egypt, that is one value I carry with me.

What is the most important lesson that shaped the way you care for others?

Egypt does not need to copy another country’s healthcare model.

It has the opportunity to build something distinctly its own.

Egypt already has important strengths: medical talent, hospitality, strategic location, and growing healthcare capability.

The next step is connection — bringing together standards, prevention, patient experience, education, innovation, and continuity of care.

Because global trust is not created by a building or a slogan.

It is earned by a system patients and physicians believe in.

As an Egyptian-American physician, this is one of the conversations I believe is worth advancing now:

How can Egyptian excellence become international confidence — while remaining distinctly Egyptian?

Egypt’s healthcare opportunity is not a blank page.

Egypt already has many important strengths: talented physicians, medical expertise, dedicated healthcare professionals, and a growing commitment to quality and innovation.

The opportunity is connection.

Connecting strategy with standards.
Connecting talent with advanced training.
Connecting healthcare with innovation.
Connecting Egyptian capability with international expertise.

The question is no longer only:

“What does Egypt need?”

A more powerful question is:

“What becomes possible when we recognize and connect the strengths Egypt already has?”

I believe the strongest opportunities do not always begin by creating something new from the beginning.

They begin by recognizing what already exists — and bringing the right people, knowledge, and relationships together.

As an Egyptian-American physician, this vision is personal. Egypt gave me my beginning, and my international journey has shown me the power of collaboration across borders.

As I return to Egypt this September, I look forward to conversations with physicians, healthcare leaders, educators, innovators, and those investing in the future of care.

Together, we can explore how Egypt’s existing strengths can create even greater possibilities for patients and future generations.

What do you believe is Egypt’s greatest healthcare asset?

Egyptian medical talent is already global. I know that journey personally.

I was born in Egypt and built much of my medical career internationally. But I have never believed that gaining experience abroad means leaving Egypt behind.

The more important question is:

What can that experience bring back?

Knowledge.
Advanced training.
Relationships.
Global connections.

Egyptian physicians are already making meaningful contributions in healthcare systems around the world.

I do not see this as talent that has left.
I see it as a global Egyptian medical network with the potential to reconnect, collaborate, and create new opportunities.

As I prepare to return to Egypt this September, I look forward to exploring how stronger connections between physicians in Egypt and Egyptian physicians abroad can support:

• Medical education and mentorship
• Research collaboration
• Specialist knowledge exchange
• Opportunities to build together

The future is not about choosing between Egypt and the world.

It is about connecting both.

How can Egypt transform its global medical talent into an even stronger advantage for healthcare at home?

If you are involved in healthcare, medical education, research, or physician development in Egypt, I would welcome the opportunity to exchange perspectives during my visit.

What would make a family choose Egypt for the care of someone they love?

That is where my vision for Egypt as a destination for health and longevity begins.

The opportunity is to connect Egyptian medical expertise with international patient care and hospitality—so that choosing treatment, arriving, recovering, and returning home feel like one coordinated journey.

For patients and families, that means confidence, clarity, and trust throughout the experience.

For healthcare leaders, hospitals, and organizations, it creates an opportunity for collaboration: sharing expertise, building trusted referral relationships, and designing care experiences centered around patients and their families.

As an Egyptian-American physician, this vision is personal. Egypt gave me my beginning. I’m returning this September with medical experience, entrepreneurial perspective, international relationships, and a commitment to exploring what can be built through thoughtful collaboration.

I believe lasting partnerships begin with a shared purpose, a clear opportunity, and people prepared to work together.

If you are building in healthcare, hospitality, medical tourism, or healthcare investment in Egypt, I would welcome the opportunity to exchange perspectives during my visit.

That trust begins before a patient travels—with clear information, communication between doctors, and confidence in what happens next.

Egypt’s connections to Africa, Europe, and the Gulf create opportunities to bring medical expertise and patient needs closer together. I see real value in building relationships between Egyptian hospitals and physicians abroad: sharing knowledge, coordinating referrals, and supporting patients when they return home.

As an Egyptian-American physician, this vision is personal. Egypt gave me my beginning. My international experience has strengthened my belief in what we can build through thoughtful collaboration.

During my return to Egypt this September, I look forward to exploring these possibilities with healthcare leaders already doing meaningful work.

If you lead a hospital or an international patient program, which connection would make the greatest difference to the people you serve? I would welcome a conversation about it.
