🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸
Today, we would like to thank the incredible people who make a difference every day. To our dedicated teams, thank you for your hard work and loving commitment to the residents we are privileged to serve. Your work is more than a job, it is about caring for others, creating comfort, and making each day better for those who depend on us.
A little Labor Day history: the first Labor Day celebration was held in New York City on September 5, 1882, and the holiday became a national observance in 1894 as a way to recognize the contributions and achievements of American workers to their communities and our nation.
More than 140 years later, that spirit of dedication is alive and well in healthcare. We are incredibly grateful for every member of our team and all that you do for our residents, their families, and one another. Happy Labor Day to our amazing team! ❤️🤍💙

Embracing Healthy Aging: Simple habits for a healthier you

September is Healthy Aging Month, a great time to celebrate the habits and mindsets that help us thrive as we grow older. Aging well isn’t about turning back the clock—it’s about tuning into what your body and mind need to feel your best right now.
Move Your Body in Ways You Enjoy -
Exercise doesn’t have to be intense to be effective. Gentle stretching, chair yoga, nature walks, and water aerobics can all support flexibility, circulation, and balance. Just 20 minutes a day of light movement can lift your spirits, improve sleep, and increase independence.
Feed Your Body & Your Brain -
A colorful plate isn’t just pretty- it’s powerful. Bright fruits, leafy greens, whole grains, and lean proteins support everything from digestion to memory. Don’t forget to hydrate, especially in warmer months or when taking certain medications.
Exercise Your Mind -
Lifelong learning, curiosity, and creativity keep the mind engaged. Try something new: take a virtual class, write in a journal, or work on a puzzle with friends. Staying mentally active helps reduce the risk of cognitive decline-and it’s fun, too!
Connection Is Key - Whether it’s phone calls with family, lunch with neighbors, or volunteering at a local group, meaningful connection keeps the heart and mind strong. Isolation can impact both emotional and physical health, so make time for others, and don’t hesitate to reach out when you need support.
Healthy aging is more than a checklist, it’s a mindset of valuing each stage of life, staying active in your own care, and finding joy in the moment. Be sure to consult with your physician before making any changes to diet or exercise to know what is right for you.

Welcoming September with Positivity & Unity
As we welcome September, we look forward to a new month filled with opportunities to celebrate, connect, and appreciate the people who make our communities so special. We’ll recognize meaningful celebrations and special moments like Healthy Aging Month, Housekeeping Week, Labor Day, Centenarian Day, and Grandparents Day.
September is also a time to pause and remember. On September 11, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the strength and unity our nation showed in the days that followed. May that spirit remind us that even during difficult times, we are stronger when we stand together, care for one another, and lead with compassion. Here’s to a September filled with hope, gratitude, kindness, and unity. Together, we can make every day an opportunity to bring a little more positivity into the lives of those around us.

Make Your Own Luck Day: Lucky Traditions
August 26 is Make Your Own Luck Day, a fun holiday that celebrates all the little traditions that make life a bit more interesting. When most people think of luck, they picture a four-leaf clover or a lucky penny. But for many of us, luck is tied to the simple habits and traditions we've carried with us for years. Maybe they came from a parent or grandparent, or perhaps they're rituals you've always done "just in case."
Do any of these sound familiar?
* Making a wish when the clock reads 11:11
* Picking up a penny when you spot one on the ground.
* Crossing your fingers for good luck.
* Wearing a favorite shirt or hat on an important day.
* Searching for or finding a four-leaf clover.
* Keeping a lucky charm or special keepsake nearby.
Whether these traditions bring good fortune or simply make us smile, they connect us to happy memories and remind us to stay hopeful. This Make Your Own Luck Day, ask a friend, family member, or fellow resident about their lucky traditions. You may discover stories you've never heard before, and create a few new memories along the way.

FAMILY FUN MONTH: END-OF-SUMMER FUN CHECKLIST
August is Family Fun Month, making it the perfect time to squeeze in a tew more summer memories before the season comes to an end. You don't need a big vacation or expensive plans. Sometimes the simplest moments become the ones we remember most.
See how many you can check off before summer says goodbye!
* Read a new book
* Try a new ice cream flavor
* Make S'mores (National S'mores Day is in August!)
* Have a picnic indoors or outside
* Play your favorite card or board game
* Mix up a new lemonade flavor
* Watch a summer sunset
* Blow bubbles in the park
* Listen to your favorite songs from years past
* Share a favorite summer memory
* Call or visit someone who makes you smile
* Enjoy a walk or simply relax outside
* Take a photo to remember the day
Whether you complete one activity or all of them, every little adventure is a chance to make new memories.
Summer isn't over yet! Make sure to hydrate and use a hat and sunscreen if you’re outside!
