The vision of Family Medicine Residency of Idaho (FMRI) Nampa Program is to produce outstanding family physician leaders for their communities while providing excellent patient care offering a wide range of medical services. FMRI Nampa is sponsored by the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho, an institution with 40+ years of expertise in family medicine resident education. Our program offers a vibrant learning platform that is intimate and innovative.

Why FM? I love the continuity of care. Getting to see a mom in clinic for prenatal care, deliver her baby, and then act as the family med doc for that baby is amazing! I love the breadth of family med and being able to care for our patients during all stages of their lives 👶

Favorite snack: fruit with chocolate 🍫

Dream Vacation: RV trip with my husband to all the national parks 🏞️

Why FM: Going into medical school, I knew I wanted to do family medicine. It is such a broad specialty that I can do as much as I want and see different things everyday! I also wanted to work with all ages of life and form long term relationship with my patients.

Say hi to Dr. Bethany Taylor!

Hometown: Westfield, Maine

Medical School: University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine

Why Family Medicine: I chose family medicine because I wanted a career where I could know my patients, care for their families, and be part of their lives through every season. My experiences in rural medicine, global health, and maternal care showed me how much I value being able to care for the whole person while still practicing broadly and staying connected to my community. Family medicine gives me the opportunity to bring all of those things together: relationships, service, women’s health, hands-on medicine, and caring for patients across generations.

Favorite snack: well if it’s junk food I’m going for peanut butter M&M’s 😁. But for everyday, veggies and hummus!

Dream vacation: A Serengeti Safari on Horseback. Fun fact: I ran a 10K race in the Serengeti in 2019 while doing global health research in Tanzania and it’s a dream to go back!!

Why FM: When I pictured myself as a physician, it was always as a family medicine doc! I love getting to be the touch point to the healthcare system for patients, and I think primary care is so important for helping people achieve their wellness goals. I love all ages, infants through geriatrics, and I really enjoy getting to form long lasting relationships with patients and entire families!

Favorite snack: Apple slices with peanut butter and chocolate chips

Dream Vacation: backpacking through Banff or Thailand!

Why FM?: I love the variety of care you can provide as a Family Medicine doc. And the opportunities to build relationships with your patients as they grow to trust you with their care. I like being able to care for every member of a family for example by delivering a baby one day, then the next following up with the care of mom and baby. A career in family medicine is customizable and offers endless opportunities to specialize and find the right fit for you.
